‘Just Make Something’ at Interface Gallery

Colpa Press invited Stairwell’s to participate in a group show at Oakland’s Interface Gallery. Our contribution was More T-Shirt Ideas (Monday-Friday), a piece consisting of five mirrors that represented the five days in a standard work week. Signs with text phrases printed in reverse hung next to each mirror, encouraging viewers to wear a sign and read it in their reflection.

“T-shirt ideas” are the seeds of hundreds of terrible projects with a few excellent ones buried in the mix, conceived of outside the studio and thus suitable, perhaps, only as t-shirt slogans. The ideas are elevated and made irrelevant at once in their roles as wearable slogans.
